Quotes and estimates

Quotes and estimates are based on the information available at the time they are provided.

A quote or estimate may be based on information you provide, photos, measurements, phone discussions, website forms, the cost calculator, or an on-site measurement.

Final pricing may vary based on actual measurements, wall height and number of storeys, the number of corners, gables, and openings, the condition of the sheathing and moisture barrier found under old siding, material choice and costs, access for ladders, scaffolding, or lifts, disposal of old siding, and the final scope of work.

Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated in writing.

We reserve the right to revise a quote if the scope changes, site conditions differ from what was described, additional work is requested, or material or disposal costs change.

Scheduling and weather

Service dates and arrival windows are scheduled based on availability and route requirements.

Siding work depends on the weather. Rain, high wind, extreme heat, and freezing conditions can delay work. Vinyl siding becomes brittle and harder to install safely in deep cold, and some caulking, sealants, and finishes are only applied when temperatures suit them. Where weather affects a scheduled visit, we will make reasonable efforts to contact you and reschedule.

We make reasonable efforts to arrive within the scheduled window. However, delays may occur due to traffic, weather, previous jobs, material supplier delays, special-order lead times, access issues, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Larger projects, such as full re-sides, run over several days. The expected start date and timeline are set out in your quote and may change with weather and with conditions found once old siding is removed.

Customer responsibilities

You are responsible for:

Providing accurate contact information;

Providing accurate service location information;

Describing the project and the property as accurately as possible;

Disclosing known hazards, such as wasp or hornet nests, rotted or damaged wall areas, loose decks or railings, unstable ground, overhead power lines near the walls, or areas prone to flooding;

Telling us about any known or suspected asbestos or other hazardous materials in the existing siding or wall materials, as described in the asbestos and hazardous materials section below;

Ensuring we have safe and reasonable access around the building, including gate access and room for ladders, scaffolding, a disposal bin or trailer, and material deliveries where the job requires them;

Moving vehicles, patio furniture, planters, grills, decorations, and other items away from the walls and work area before the crew arrives;

Keeping pets and children away from the work area while work is under way, including from areas below ladders and scaffolding;

Obtaining any required condo board, HOA, landlord, or property manager approval, and any permits where applicable.

If the site is not ready, unsafe, inaccessible, or materially different from what was described, we may reschedule the work, revise the quote, or apply additional charges.

Hidden conditions behind existing siding

When old siding comes off, the sheathing, moisture barrier, flashing, and framing underneath can be seen for the first time.

Rot, water damage, insect damage, missing or failed house wrap, and structural problems are not always visible before the work begins. Where they are found, we will show you what was found, and any repair beyond the original scope is quoted before that extra work goes ahead.

We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions behind the siding, and we may pause the work, revise the scope, or revise the price where hidden conditions are found.

Asbestos and hazardous materials

Some siding, sheathing, and other building materials on older homes, particularly those built before the 1980s, can contain asbestos. Ontario's asbestos regulation (O. Reg. 278/05) requires the owner to find out whether asbestos is present before work that could disturb it.

If you know or suspect that your siding or wall materials contain asbestos or other hazardous materials, tell us before the work is scheduled. Testing, and any removal by a qualified abatement contractor, is arranged separately unless your quote says otherwise.

If suspected hazardous materials are found during the work, we may stop work in the affected area until testing is complete and, where needed, the material has been safely removed.

Fixtures, utilities, and items on exterior walls

Siding work often means removing and refitting items mounted on exterior walls, such as lights, outlets, hose bibs, vents, dryer and exhaust hoods, satellite dishes, house numbers, and mailboxes.

Hydro meters, gas meters, and service lines belong to the utility or require a licensed trade. Any electrical, gas, or plumbing work needed to move, disconnect, or reconnect them is not part of our quote unless it says so, and the work may need to wait until the utility or licensed trade has completed it.

We are not responsible for the condition or operation of fixtures that were already damaged, worn, or not working before the work began.

Colour, profile, and material matching

Siding colours fade with sun and age, and manufacturers change or discontinue profiles and colours over time.

For repairs, partial replacements, and additions, we match the existing profile and colour as closely as the current product line allows, but an exact match is not always possible. Where an exact match is not available, we will tell you before the work goes ahead.

Natural products such as wood and cedar vary in grain and colour from board to board.

Property access and condition

Siding work means setting up ladders, scaffolding, or lifts against and around the building, and moving people, equipment, and materials across lawns, gardens, driveways, and walkways.

We take reasonable care during the work. You should tell us in advance about soft or wet ground, septic areas, delicate walkways or driveways, garden beds and plants close to the walls, narrow gates, and anything else on the route that needs care, so the crew can plan around it.

Ladders, scaffolding, disposal bins, and material deliveries can leave marks on lawns, garden beds, and driveways, and plants growing against the walls may need to be tied back or trimmed for access. We make reasonable efforts to limit this, but we are not responsible for minor turf marks that recover with time, or for damage caused by conditions that were not disclosed.

Nails and small pieces of debris can fall during tear-off. We clean the work area as the job progresses, and you should take care around the work area until the job is complete.

We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, or for damage to items left in the work area after you were asked to clear it.

Payment terms

Payment terms are confirmed at the time of booking and may also be stated in your quote, invoice, or written communication.

Final payment is due on completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing.

For full re-sides, new construction, commercial projects, and other larger jobs, a deposit may be required to hold the date or to purchase materials such as special-order siding, trim, and custom colours.

Accepted payment methods are confirmed when you book. Late payments may result in additional fees, collection costs, interest, or suspension of future services, where permitted by law.

Cancellations and rescheduling

Cancellations or rescheduling requests should be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled start.

Where a deposit was taken, it may be non-refundable if cancellation occurs after scheduling commitments have been made, crew or equipment has been committed, materials have been ordered, or work has commenced. Special-order siding, custom colours, and custom-cut materials often cannot be returned once ordered.

We may reschedule or cancel service due to weather, unsafe conditions, illness, equipment issues, material delays, access issues, emergencies, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Photos and images on this website

Project photos on this website, including the Recent Project sections on our area pages, show jobs completed in the area named. Other photographs and illustrations show the type of work described on each page.

We do not present images as before-and-after evidence of a particular job unless the page says so directly.

Every job is different, and the outcome depends on the building, the condition of the existing walls, materials, weather, site conditions, and scope of work.

Service commitments

Any commitment about workmanship or materials is set out in your written quote or service agreement, job by job, and is not a blanket guarantee across all jobs.

Manufacturer warranties on siding, trim, and other products are separate, are set by the manufacturer, and vary by product line.

We do not make guarantees about outcomes that depend on weather, on hidden conditions, or on third parties, including material suppliers, manufacturers, utilities, and permitting offices.

Results and limitations

We make reasonable efforts to provide careful, complete siding service. However, results may vary based on the building, the condition of the existing walls, weather, and the scope agreed.

Vinyl siding expands and contracts with temperature, and some movement and minor waviness in direct sun is normal for the material.

Siding colours fade with sun exposure over time, at a rate that depends on the product, the colour, and how much sun the wall receives.

Fiber cement, wood, and other painted or stained products need repainting or refinishing on the schedule set by the manufacturer or the finish used.

Insulated siding adds insulation to the wall, but energy savings depend on the whole house and are not guaranteed.

Repairs address the damage found and agreed on. Older siding may have other worn or damaged sections that only become visible later.

Electrical, gas, and plumbing work requires a licensed trade, and that work is not part of our quote unless it says so.

We are not responsible for limitations caused by pre-existing conditions, hidden defects, structural issues, contamination, or unsuitable site conditions.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Siding Experts is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or loss-of-profit damages arising from the website, quotes, scheduling, communications, or services.

We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions, hidden defects behind existing siding, hazardous materials not disclosed to us, structural issues, contamination, or damage resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, any liability related to a service is limited to the amount paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
